Sándor Csenki
Sándor Csenki was born on 28 August 1913 in Szeged, his father was also a professional officer. After graduating from the Ludovika Academy, he was assigned to the field artillery. Between 1942 and 1943 he participated in the operations of the 2nd Army, for which he was awarded the bronze Governor's Commendation of the Sword of Commendation. In March 1944, he left for the front as commander of the 21/2 Battalion. After Christmas 1944, during the siege of Budapest, the artillery unit did little substantial activity and did not participate in infantry combat. On 11 February 1945, he transferred to the Soviet troops in Buda with his entire artillery division, 32 officers and 460 men, and shortly afterwards was hospitalised, from where he reported for duty to the new army on 15 April. In 1947 he joined the MKP, after which he also led party seminars and graduated from the party school with excellent results. In 1949 he was already a major, but there are no records of his ranks. In the same year he was sentenced to four years in prison for unknown reasons.
